Korean Lunar New Year's Day

Happy Korean Lunar New Year's Day 🎉🎊

At February 16, it's the Korean New Year's Day.
It's an important day called Seolnal (설날)

Seolnal is an official holiday in Korea.
We go to hometown to see all families.
Each family has to perform the Ancestor Worship.

They also have meal together, the important dish is Tteokguk (Rice Cake Soup).
Most Korean believe that eating Tteokguk makes them one year older because rice cake's cut shapes as the sun which is the symbol of new beginning
